We have all been powerless to live up to God’s standards of righteousness, but through Jesus’ finished work on the cross, He appeased God’s wrath and dealt with sin and its effects, imputed righteousness in us, and assured us of salvation. This is the gospel: the power of God for salvation to be proclaimed and demonstrated to our generation today and generations after us.
